Brady Bread

2012-12-12

Andrew Lunetta, Coordinator of Homeless Out-Reach has revived Glory Bee bakery which was closed for several years. Lunetta and several men who participate in the Pedals-to- Possibilities (P2P) program make bread for delivery to: Brady Faith Center, Le Moyne College-Panasci Family Chapel, Most Holy Rosary School, St. Lucy’s, and St. Vincent’s.

The bakery made 15 loaves the first week but plans to bake eighty loaves weekly starting in January, 2013 and then increase to one hundred in March, 2013.  In addition to an increase of loaves of bread being made there will be an increase in the number of sites; three new sites will begin their bread subscription in March, 2013.

Brady bread is a whole wheat bread made with all organic ingredients and sold for $3.00 a loaf. The bread is sold on a ten week subscription basis to subscribers from local parishes, with proceeds divided among Jail Ministry, the BradyFaithCenter and the P2P program.

Brady Bread along with some of Andrew’s outreach efforts can be found in a recent Post Standard Article by Elizabeth Doran.
