Poems by our VBS kids
2016-09-27
Some of our talented kids at our Vacation Bible School program wrote the following poems. They are beautiful and they are honest. Enjoy.
Now
by Nazjalia
Now I am ten and I still dream.
I dream of a place of peace
where kids can sing
A place where all is kind
and I dream a place where
you can be nice and loving
Notice Me
by Tony
Notice me for I am not like the others.
Notice me for I am the child
that will make you proud.
Notice me for I have a plan for life.
Notice me for I will be the child
with the college degree
I am not greedy and want all of the attention.
I just want to be noticed
just once
for the good in me.
Notice me
Invisible Me
by Jauniya
If I was invisible
I will fly up to clouds
I float like an angel, so I will shine.
The invisible person inside of me
longs to shine free.
I am the dancer I can be.
I can dance to make the world
watch me shine
bright like an angel in the sky.
We can make the shine.
Watch what we do to dance really good.
I can shine when the sun comes out
with beauty full like all the
love in the world.
Invisible
by Zalika
I am the invisible dancer
People can see me in their hearts.
Can’t see me with your eyes
because your hearts are more powerful
than your eyes.
Invisible is me today.
God is in everyone’s hearts
and sees my spirit dance moves
Love
by Elaijah
Love is like a rainbow flower
in the sky of love.
Love is like my Mom
kissing and hugging me.
She warms me up when I’m sad.
She take care of me when I’m mad.
My Dad hugs me and loves and kisses me too.
Love is like a sun
shining over everyone.
God loves me too.
I love my Mom and Dad because they make me happy
and they make me shine like a star at night.
When I’m scared of the monster I think
are under my bed, they are like my protectors
from the world.
They are like the earth, taking care of me.
How I See
by Kimari
With my happy eyes I see rainbows and all the people in my family.
With my sad eyes I see water and when the snow melts.
With my angry eyes I see fire in a volcano
with a dog in it that did not die.
With my loving eyes I see all the people I love.
With the eyes of God I see Jesus and peace and my family.
How I See
by Diamond
With my happy eyes I see a beautiful rainbow
jumping from cloud to cloud!
With my sad I see when my Grandma died.
With my angry eyes I see my mommy yelling at me.
With my loving eyes I see my mommy and flowers.
With the eyes of God I see a rainbow.
In My Hands
by Malachi
In my hands I
hold happiness and
friendship and hold
the power of God
and his forgiveness
and I would hold
all the creations
that God made
and I would respect
all of God’s creations
and I will respect Jesus’s sacrifices
for dying for all
the people
in planet Earth
Untitled
by Janaya
All the actions on my street.
At night I hear creeps,
kids play ball everywhere.
You wanted to know what I hear?
News. Gunshots telling me
you gotta be kidding me.
I look up in the sky
cars going by
Syracuse gliding over the street.
Some kids have nothing to eat.
Sky
by Nazjalia
Sky O Sky
How can I repay you?
You bring light and peace
to our world.
How can I repay you
Bright light in the sky
Can I light up the sky
with my happiness
Can I bring peace and kindness to you
You are a butterfly in the sky
Earth
by Zalika
I am the earth
and in the earth
there are lots of people
that harm nature.
People tell you
God made it.
Didn’t you know?
In My Hands
By Matison
In my hands I hold hope and power.
I give my power to the ones who need.
I give my hope to those who have lost
and given. I learned from my Mom’s hands
to love and care.
In my hands I hold knowledge and respect.
I learned from my Dad’s hands to respect others.
I learned from others not to hurt people.
I learned from my community hands to help
stop violence and love one another.
